Available since 1998, Invisalign™ is the premier solution for invisible or clear braces. If you’re looking for a discreet, convenient orthodontic solution, Invisalign™ could be the treatment for you! Here’s a guide to the ins and outs of Invisalign™ clear braces.
Invisalign™ is an “invisible” orthodontic treatment that utilizes clear, removable aligners to straighten the teeth. This proven and professional solution caters to the needs of modern-day patients, providing a simple, hassle-free means of straightening your teeth and giving you a stunning smile. Worldwide, more than 6 million people have benefited from Invisalign™ treatment.
Many of us conjure up images of metal wires and brackets when we think about braces. Invisalign™ offers an alternative to conventional fixed braces, using clear plastic aligners to move the teeth. Each aligner is custom-made for the individual, and you use a series of clear removable braces to achieve perfectly-aligned teeth.
How does Invisalign™ work?
Invisalign™ treatment involves a different process than traditional fixed braces. Instead of having metal or ceramic braces applied to your teeth, you will be presented with a series of custom aligners, which work in sequence to gently guide your teeth into position.
Each aligner is normally worn for 2-3 weeks. Once you’ve worn your first aligner for 2-3 weeks, you then swap it for the next aligner in the set. The entire treatment time is about 12 to 18 months. For the best results, we recommend wearing the aligners for at least 21-22 hours per day. You can take your aligners out to eat, clean your teeth, and drink.
Each aligner is shaped to encourage movement. Invisalign™ clear braces treatment is planned in advance using sophisticated technology to plot the motion of your teeth and, in most cases, correct your bite.
