What Is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge “bridges” the gap between missing teeth. Dr. Rinaldi places a crown onto at least one natural tooth on either side of the gap, with an artificial tooth or teeth in between. If there is only a natural tooth on one side of the gap, Dr. Rinaldi may use a cantilever bridge. Unlike a denture, a bridge is bonded to the teeth, which means it’s permanent. The bridge offers comfort, functionality, and aesthetics while preventing various dental problems that might occur from missing teeth. By replacing your missing teeth, you can also improve your ability to speak and to chew normally.
Dental Bridges in Washing, D.C., Area
Rinaldi Dental Arts in the Washington, D.C., area wants to help you restore your smile. We offer patients a range of oral restoration services. We want to help you keep your natural teeth whenever possible. Unfortunately, sometimes you may lose a tooth or your dentist must extract it. When this is the case, the optimum solution is a dental implant. However, dental implants don’t work for every patient’s oral health condition, budget, or timeline. For this reason, we also offer dental bridges to replace one or more teeth.
Our dental bridges are functional and aesthetic to match your natural teeth. Replacing missing teeth is important for reasons other than restoring your beautiful smile. Missing teeth can lead to issues with tooth alignment and your bite, as well as other dental problems.
