Dental Crowns

Tired of having damaged and decayed teeth? If you have broken or decayed teeth, a dental crown is an excellent solution.

WHAT ARE DENTAL CROWNS?

Dental crowns bolster decayed and damaged teeth. Crowns or caps are placed over the top of the natural tooth structure. They consist of a variety of materials, but Dr. Rinaldi often recommends porcelain. Porcelain provides a natural-looking aesthetic and it also has a beautiful luminescence, which is comparable to healthy, natural teeth.

WHY WOULD I NEED A DENTAL CROWN?

Dental crowns are an effective restorative solution for patients with damaged or weak teeth as a result of decay, oral infections, trauma, and dental injuries.

Crowns strengthen the tooth and the treatment process also helps to reduce the risk of further decay. Dr. Rinaldi can enhance the look of your smile with this simple procedure.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

Woman sitting for a dental crownThere are two key phases in this procedure. During the first session, Dr. Rinaldi prepares the tooth by removing the decayed and damaged areas. He shapes the tooth to get it ready for the new crown.

The second phase of treatment involves placing and securing the crown. If you select the traditional technique, this appointment will usually take place around 2 weeks after the first session.
